Maybe it's time to RE-THINK THE STATE LOTTERY. It was originally passed by the citizens under the DISGUISE of helping shools. And then sometime later, PUBLIC BUILDINGS aka bureaucRATic expension of state controling our lives was added to the mix. I don't ever remember voting on this issue. The solution to less gubuerment is take the $$$ away. 100% of the profit .. oops excess funds, generated by the state lottey needs to go directly back to the public. NOT EXPANSION OF BUREAUCRATIC RULES. AND THE UNIONS CONTROLING THE SCHOOLS ARE THE BIGGEST DRAIN ON DOLLARS. The lottery is just another tax .. on us poor people that think we can win with odds 1 to 175++ millions ...

The sad fact about increasing the minimum wages is that the real winners are all the taxing agencies of government. Social Security gets more, unemployment aka Dept of Labor gets more, Idaho state tax commission gets more, and the State Dept of Insurance (work comp is based on gross wages) gets more ... oh yes and the new communistic insurance exchange... within a couple of years we will see a new w/holding tax to pay for health insurance.

While the Faculty Senate is being reconstituted as per the SBOE’s decision, the university has created a plan for continued shared governance in the interim, which includes several specific existing committees reporting to administrators deemed appropriate by the ISU administration.

This is the story of schools disctirts rural and suburban across the country that rely heavily on state and federal funds for their budgets. Small rural disctirts worry how they will offer required courses so students can graduate. New York State wants to force a merger of disctirts to avoid duplication of services and has placed a cap on property taxes to ease the burden on residents. Sounds good on paper until one looks at fuel costs to transport students, the length of time students will spend on school buses, or the fact that mergers may cross county lines. Poorer large suburban disctirts and they do occur now force students to travel from their home school to another school in the day to complete courses in their major. Limiting the amount of income disctirts can generate through property taxes means that limiting 2013 budgets to the amount of money spent in 2012 really means a cut in funding to schools. I am appalled at what is happening in New York State, once considered at the top of the list in educating students. I was angered at Governor Cuomo's comments prior to presenting the state budget, claiming that school disctirts had deep pockets of money into which they must tap. Perhaps in Westchester county

Why would anyone want to submit to paying a fine for a non existing code without questioning it. You are correct to challenge the ticket. The problem with our society is that we don't question government enough. That is called submissiveness to the so called higher authority which by the way you were responsible for electing. Many citizens have become far too complacent when it comes to challenging government authority. We would not have found out about the IRS targeting conservative groups had it not been for the complaining to government officials about the problem. We get the government we deserve. Your plea of not guilty a good way to find out why they charged you with that particular non existent code but my bet is you will still wind up having to pay the speeding ticket.

Even though you might have violated the speed limit, the officer that gave you the citation, cited you under a non-existing statue, therefore you are not guilty.

Wayne, I'm pleased that you are bringing to light issues that every citizen should be concerned about. Though I have only anecdotal evidence, I believe our liberties and rights are slowly eroding daily at a rate that many citizens don't notice it. Your attention to this is a great service to anyone that believes our constitution is not what it used to be...
